News From German Music Business

The German magazine "(Der) Musikmarkt" - there were two spellings - was purely a trade journal for the music industry. It was published from 1959 to 2016 and was available by subscription. At first it was published monthly, then every 14 days from 1970 and then weekly from 1995. One of the main reasons for changing the way the magazine was published was the current chart poster that came with it. They presented the official LP and single sales hit parades in large format and were posted in many records specialist shops.
