German music magazine for discerning rock music
The German music magazine eclipsed began in the 1990s as a Pink Floyd fanzine. The magazine's somewhat unusual name is derived from the last track on Pink Floyd's LP 'The Dark Side of the Moon'.
In 2000, eclipsed launched as a professional music magazine, becoming available at newsstands throughout Germany. Since its first issue, it has been published ten times a year by Sysyphus Verlag. The number of pages in each issue has varied between 80 and 100 since its inception.
Many issues include CDs. The regular newsstand edition often (but not always) includes a CD from the "The Art of Sysyphus" series. Subscribers receive a CD from the "Music from Time and Space" series with (almost) every issue. Occasionally, both CD series are included in a single issue. The songs on the CDs are chosen to complement the magazine's content, which focuses on various genres of rock music.
Since 2004, the "Shopping List" section has been a regular feature of the magazine. It analyzes the discographies of well-known bands and solo artists and assigns them to different categories – from "shopping spree" to "impulse buy" to "bad buy".
